J Labs Opens New Business Site in Gumi
Expectations Rise for Enhanced Defense Industry Competitiveness
On the 13th, J Labs Co., Ltd., a defense industry company based in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, held an opening ceremony for its new business site and officially began expanding its operations. With the integration of its business sites, the company is expected to maximize production efficiency and strengthen its technological development capabilities.
More than 30 people attended the ceremony, including Kim Jangho, Mayor of Gumi, Seok Junhak and Song Seunghoon, co-CEOs of J Labs, Lee Gunhyeok, Head of Division at LIG Nex1, and Kim Youngbok, CEO of LCTech.
Founded in 2019, J Labs Co., Ltd. develops and manufactures core defense communication modules such as frequency synthesizer modules and anti-jamming modules used in missile and radar systems.
In particular, the company is expanding its presence in the domestic defense market based on its technological capabilities in RF modules and components, digital modules, and testing equipment.
Having graduated from the Gumi Startup Incubation Center, J Labs has received various forms of support from the government and related organizations.
In 2020, it was selected as a partner company of the Gumi Defense Venture Center, establishing a collaborative network with the military and defense-related organizations.
The new business site was established as part of Gumi City's ‘Gyeongbuk-Gumi Defense Innovation Cluster’ project and the Defense Acquisition Program Administration’s support project for domestic parts development. By integrating its headquarters, factory, and environmental testing center, the company aims to enhance productivity and quality while optimizing its research and development environment.
Kim Jangho, Mayor of Gumi, stated, "The opening of J Labs' new business site will be a new turning point for the local defense industry," adding, "Gumi City will strengthen cooperation with the defense industry and actively support corporate growth."
