Jokuk Innovation Party "Prosecutors Must Immediately Appeal Yoon's Detention Cancellation"

The Joguk Innovation Party pointed out the responsibility of the prosecution regarding the court's decision to cancel the detention of President Yoon Seok-yeol. The Joguk Innovation Party demanded that the prosecution immediately appeal the court's decision.

On the 7th, Kim Seon-min, Acting Representative of the Joguk Innovation Party, expressed "deep and profound anger" regarding the decision to cancel President Yoon's detention, stating, "This decision does not mean that Yoon Seok-yeol is innocent, but that the prosecution miscalculated the detention period." Kim emphasized, "There is no way the prosecution would miscalculate such a critical matter," adding, "It can only be seen as intentional." As evidence, he pointed out, "The meeting of prosecutors on January 27, which was unnecessary, wasted a day." He said, "The prosecution must conduct an internal investigation of the Yoon Seok-yeol investigation team and those in the chain of command to find out why this happened."

Furthermore, he demanded the prosecution to immediately appeal. Kim said, "The prosecution must immediately appeal the court's decision to cancel the detention," adding, "That is the duty of public officials to the people." He continued, "We strongly urge Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jung and the prosecution leadership to take responsibility and resign without exception in the name of the people."

He also demanded the court to order detention ex officio. Kim stated, "Yoon Seok-yeol is currently abusing his position as president to coerce and threaten the parties involved in the case, thereby obstructing the Constitutional Court's impeachment trial and the investigation of treason, and there is a serious risk of distortion," adding, "The court must detain Yoon Seok-yeol ex officio due to concerns over evidence destruction and distortion of investigation and trial, regardless of other reasons."

Regarding the Constitutional Court, he requested, "Do not be discouraged by the distressing turmoil," and said, "We, along with the people, eagerly await a swift deliberation and a conclusion that meets the expectations of the public."
