On the 7th, NH Investment & Securities analyzed that concerns have arisen over the potential disruption of Starlink, a low Earth orbit satellite communication service operating in the Ukraine region, and that OneWeb is emerging as an alternative. They also expected that Intellian Technologies' position in the low Earth orbit satellite communication market could expand.
Sim Eui-seop, a researcher at NH Investment & Securities, explained, "After the meeting between the US and Ukrainian presidents on the 4th, the US announced the suspension of military support to Ukraine," adding, "The stock prices of Eutelsat S.A., a French satellite communication company that merged with OneWeb, and Intellian Technologies, which supplies antennas to OneWeb, surged sharply."
He continued, "Due to a tariff dispute between the US and Canada, the governor of Ontario, Canada, canceled the Starlink contract," and "The Italian government also announced it would review its contract with Starlink." He emphasized, "There is a movement to seek alternatives to Starlink due to political issues," and "OneWeb is rapidly emerging as an alternative to Starlink."
Researcher Sim predicted, "Eutelsat is negotiating with the EU to expand communication services in Ukraine," and "If the service expands, the inventory of Intellian Technologies antennas held by Eutelsat will be rapidly depleted." He added, "Even reflecting only the backlog of orders, sales of antennas for gateways are expected to increase from about 30 billion KRW last year to around 120 billion KRW this year," and "Additional orders are also anticipated."
