85 Projects Across Six Sectors to Further Reduce Fine Dust
Record-Low Ultrafine Dust Levels Achieved Since 2015 Observations

Incheon City announced on the 6th that it will invest a total of 265.8 billion KRW this year to reduce fine dust by implementing 85 projects across six sectors: fugitive dust, ports and aviation, power generation and industry, transportation, measurement and analysis.


Compared to last year, 9 additional projects have been added, and fine dust reduction measures by sector have been further strengthened. Through this, the city plans to achieve reduction targets of over 90% in each sector.


Last year, the city executed 250.1 billion KRW (94.6%) out of the total project budget of 264.3 billion KRW, and carried out 74 out of 76 projects (98%) across the six sectors.

Last year, the annual average concentration of ultrafine dust (PM2.5) in the Incheon area was 19㎍/㎥, marking the lowest level since observations began in 2015. The number of days rated as 'Good' or 'Moderate' was 343, an increase of 19 days compared to the previous year, and there were no days rated as 'Very Bad.'


An official from Incheon City stated, "As a result of actively promoting various reduction projects, the improvement in air quality has reached a level that citizens can feel. Following last year, we will focus on reduction projects targeting key emission sources closely related to citizens' daily lives, such as road dust and construction site fugitive dust," he/she said.
