Follow-up Measures Taken, Including Blocking the Hacking Attempt IP
Outdoor brand Black Yak experienced a data breach involving the leakage of approximately 340,000 customer personal information records.
On the 6th, Black Yak stated, "We detected signs of personal information leakage of about 340,000 records through a hacking attempt on our official mall website," and added, "We immediately blocked the IP address used in the hacking attempt and took follow-up measures such as restricting access to only the headquarters' IP."
The personal information presumed to have been leaked through the official mall website includes five items: ▲name ▲gender ▲date of birth ▲contact information ▲address.
Black Yak apologized, saying, "We sincerely apologize for the concern caused by the personal information leakage," and explained, "We have established a dedicated breach response center to verify and handle reports of the leaked personal information and will do our best to prevent any further damage."
