On the 5th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the 2025 Changwon Special City Administrative Monitor Appointment Ceremony and conducted preliminary training at the City Hall Citizen Hall.
The Administrative Monitor system is a citizen participation program implemented by Changwon Special City to directly hear citizens' opinions and collaborate on major policies and projects promoted for the citizens.
The 60 administrative monitors appointed on this day consist of citizens actively engaged in various sectors of society, including housewives, small business owners, and professionals. They will play a role in gathering public opinion and providing feedback on various monthly topics, such as ‘life-oriented projects’ closely related to citizens' daily lives.
Jang Geum-yong, the First Deputy Mayor, stated, “This year's administrative monitors are composed of diverse age groups and professions, so we expect to broadly capture voices from all walks of life,” and added, “Each opinion from the administrative monitors will be a great driving force for Changwon Special City's ‘leap and takeoff as a Northeast Asia central city.’” He urged active participation.
Meanwhile, last year, 51 administrative monitors were active for nine months from March to November, submitting a total of 422 reports on assigned tasks each month. The relevant departments reviewed these reports and reflected them in city administration.
