Park Dongsik, Mayor of Sacheon, Appointed Honorary Dean of Korea Polytechnics Aviation Campus

Mayor Park: "I Promise to Continue Efforts for the Development of the Aviation and Space Industries"

Park Dongsik, mayor of Sacheon City, Gyeongnam, was appointed honorary dean of the Korea Polytechnic University Aviation Campus.

Sacheon City announced on the 5th that Mayor Park received the appointment certificate of "Honorary Dean" at the "Korea Polytechnic University 2025 Entrance Ceremony," attended by about 200 people including Dean Won Younghui, professors, and new students.

The honorary dean is appointed based on the academic operation regulations of Korea Polytechnic Specialized University, decided through the resolution of the university personnel committee upon the recommendation of the dean to those who have made significant contributions to the development of the university and the local community.

Mayor Park Dongsik is recognized for his contributions, including the opening of the Space Aviation Agency, which laid the foundation for securing competitiveness in the space era, and for elevating Sacheon's status as the aerospace capital of South Korea.

Dean Won Younghui said, “Mayor Park Dongsik is turning Sacheon City, the center of South Korea’s aviation industry, into a reality rather than a dream with the administrative slogan ‘A New Beginning, Happy City Sacheon.’ For this reason, he was recommended as honorary dean.”

Mayor Park Dongsik expressed his thoughts, saying, “I want to share this honor with the new students who will open the future of our region. I promise to continue to work hard for the development of Sacheon’s aviation and space industries.”
