Providing Continuity Ahead of 'Class 2' Release

On the 26th, Netflix announced that it will release "Weak Hero Class 1," which aired on Wavve in 2022 and gained great popularity, to over 190 countries worldwide on the 25th of next month. The action coming-of-age drama depicts the journey of Yeon Si-eun, a top 1% exemplary student, as she faces numerous acts of violence alongside her first friends, Suho and Beomseok. The story of confronting violence inside and outside of school, combined with the unique genre thrill of school action dramas, attracted significant attention upon its release.

Netflix will also release "Weak Hero Class 2" in the second quarter. Netflix seized the opportunity when the existing distributor, Wavve, gave up scheduling due to concerns over deficit structures and signed a contract. This release of "Weak Hero Class 1" is interpreted as a measure to provide continuity while strengthening its identity as an original series.

"Weak Hero Class 2," which has already finished filming, contains a harrowing survival story and a brilliant growth tale as Yeon Si-eun transfers to Eunjang High School and confronts even greater violence. The cast includes Park Ji-hoon, who starred in "Weak Hero Class 1," as well as Ryeo Un, Choi Min-young, Yoo Soo-bin, Bae Na-ra, Lee Min-jae, and Lee Jun-young. Director Yoo Soo-min took the helm, with Han Joon-hee, director of "D.P." and "Hard Hit," participating as a creator.
