The 4th Western Gyeongnam 4-County Administrative Council Meeting Held in Geochang County

Joint Discussion of Major Issues by Four Counties: Sancheong, Hamyang, Geochang, and Hapcheon

Geochang County announced on the 25th that the heads of four counties in western Gyeongnam (Sancheong, Hamyang, Geochang, Hapcheon) and local lawmaker Shin Seong-beom held the "4th Western Gyeongnam 4-County Administrative Council" by inviting the chairman of the Korea National Park Service.


The Western Gyeongnam 4-County Administrative Council was formed to discuss ▲plans and countermeasures for population and regional extinction ▲joint discovery and response to linked cooperation projects ▲establishment of joint response measures for urgent projects such as jobs, housing, medical care, and welfare ▲other major urgent projects requiring joint response, and it is held quarterly by rotating among the four counties.

At this meeting, tasks for the joint development of the four counties were discussed, including cooperation plans for jointly attracting and hosting the 2027 Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Sports Festival and proposals to the Korea National Park Service regarding issues and development directions related to the national parks surrounding the four counties: Deogyusan, Gayasan, and Jirisan.


Song Hyung-geun, chairman of the Korea National Park Service, said, "I was able to gain a deep understanding of the national park issues related to the four counties in western Gyeongnam. We will strive to contribute to the development of the four counties by reflecting the suggestions from this administrative council."


Lawmaker Shin Seong-beom said, "It was a meaningful occasion to discuss joint issues of the four counties," and added, "Let us join forces for the joint development of western Gyeongnam."


Meanwhile, in the second half of last year, lawmaker Shin Seong-beom secured a total of 13 projects and 7.7 billion won in special grants from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to resolve urgent projects and disaster safety issues in the four counties of western Gyeongnam.
