Aiming to Expand Industrial Complex Supply and Strengthen the Semiconductor Materials, Parts, and Equipment Base
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 24th that it will conduct the '2024-2026 Private Proposal Industrial Complex Contest Project' to secure industrial complex supply and create demand-tailored industrial complexes.
The city plans to revitalize the supply of industrial complexes in the region through the contest and strengthen the foundation for attracting semiconductor materials, parts, and equipment (SoBuJang) companies. In particular, the city explained that the supply of industrial complex quotas in Gyeonggi Province has changed from a fixed allocation to a flexible allocation, and that demand for industrial complexes from companies is expected to increase due to the lifting of the Songtan Water Source Protection Zone.
A city official said, "As semiconductor-related companies continue to move into the 'Yongin Advanced System Semiconductor Cluster National Industrial Complex' and the 'Yongin Semiconductor Cluster General Industrial Complex,' the need to secure new industrial complex supply has increased."
The contest period is from next month 4th to June 30th. The city will review the submitted proposals based on ▲ feasibility of project implementation ▲ suitability of location ▲ alignment with policies ▲ revitalization of the local economy ▲ contribution to the local community.
Afterwards, the target projects will be selected through the Industrial Complex Policy Advisory Meeting, and the supply of quotas will be applied for to Gyeonggi Province in the second half of the year. The city also plans to hold a project briefing session for the contest next month.
