New Technologies and Services Unveiled by Top Three Battery Companies
To Be Held at COEX from July 5 to 7
Despite the electric vehicle chasm (temporary growth stagnation), this year's 'InterBattery 2025' will be held on the largest scale ever. Korea's top three battery cell companies and material, component, and equipment firms are set to showcase numerous new technologies to overcome the chasm.
The Korea Battery Industry Association and COEX announced on the 24th that InterBattery 2025 will be held for three days from the 5th to the 7th of next month throughout the COEX exhibition center. Marking its 13th edition, 'InterBattery 2025' will feature 2,330 booths from 688 battery companies, representing a participation increase of over 20% compared to last year, making it the largest event in its history.
This exhibition will host a record number of 172 overseas companies and institutions. BYD, the world's number one electric vehicle manufacturer and second-largest battery maker, and EVE, ranked ninth globally in battery shipments, will participate in InterBattery for the first time. A total of 79 Chinese companies are also expected to attend. The U.S. Battery Forum will feature key speakers from the U.S. federal government and eight state governments including Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Arizona, Tennessee, Georgia, Indiana, and South Carolina, who will discuss the latest trends in the U.S. battery market and support programs for attracting investment.
In particular, battery companies will unveil various new technologies and services aimed at overcoming the chasm at this year's exhibition.
LG Energy Solution will introduce the '46 Series Cylindrical Battery,' which offers higher energy and output compared to the existing 2170 cells, while Samsung SDI will reveal the '50A-class Ultra-High Output Cylindrical Battery,' significantly enhancing output over previous batteries.
L&F will disclose the operational status of its pilot plant for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode materials and plans for mass production of LFP cathode materials. Rumplier will showcase the development status of next-generation LFP batteries that increase energy density and reduce production costs through eco-friendly process technologies.
LS Electric will create an energy storage system (ESS) zone and introduce the 'All-in-One ESS Platform' equipped with power consumption prediction and control technologies. Ionus will unveil a vehicle-mobile ESS battery pack optimized for mobility to maximize transportability.
Ubat will present its 'Ultra-High Energy Density Lithium Metal Battery' with 600Wh/kg energy density and plans to enter new markets such as drones, defense, and urban air mobility (UAM).
