Dongduk Women's University has been embroiled in ongoing conflicts surrounding last year's opposition by students to the transition to coeducation, including the occupation of the main building and protests involving spray painting. The Emergency Committee of the Dongduk Women's University Student Council held a rally in front of the university main building on the 20th, the day before, condemning the university administration for filing lawsuits against 19 students and sending certified letters for disciplinary actions, claiming these are ‘retaliatory’ legal measures. The students also stated they would carry out a campus petition campaign in response to the university's unfair measures. It is reported that Dongduk Women's University is not considering withdrawing the lawsuits.
