School Space Restructuring Project Next Month

Four aging schools in Gwangju will be reborn as future-oriented schools equipped with advanced educational environments.

The Gwangju Office of Education announced on the 21st that Songjeongjungang Elementary School, Yangsan Elementary School, Unam Elementary School, and Seonmyeong School have been selected as the schools for this year's space restructuring project, and that the official project procedures will begin in March.


The space restructuring project involves rebuilding or remodeling schools that are over 40 years old, transforming them into future-oriented schools suitable for the digital transformation era. The project will proceed in the order of preliminary planning, design, and construction.


The four schools selected for this year's project, including Songjeongjungang Elementary School, will establish implementation plans in March, form a task force team, and carry out preliminary planning.


The preliminary planning will involve educational planning experts, spatial planning experts, and school members, who will discuss curriculum analysis, the direction of future education, space design, project scale, and energy efficiency, with the aim of enhancing the value of the educational space.
