Comedian-turned-broadcaster Kim Won-hyo has been appointed as the Public Relations Ambassador for the Busan Metropolitan City Autonomous Police.
The Busan Metropolitan City Autonomous Police Committee (Chairman Kim Cheol-jun) announced on the 21st that Kim Won-hyo was appointed as the Public Relations Ambassador to widely promote the role of the autonomous police to citizens and to enhance the image of a safe Busan.
The appointment ceremony was held on the 20th in the Autonomous Police Committee meeting room, where Chairman Kim Cheol-jun personally presented the appointment plaque and expressed his gratitude.
Broadcaster Kim Wonhyo is smiling brightly after receiving the appointment certificate as the Busan Metropolitan City Autonomous Police Public Relations Ambassador on the 20th.
Born and raised in Busan, Kim Won-hyo spent all his school years in the city. He has built a broad fan base across generations by playing friendly police roles in various media such as comedy programs, commercials, and films.
Known for his witty Gyeongsang-do dialect, charming storytelling, and positive energy, he has gained widespread popularity with catchphrases like “Andwae~!” (No way!). Beyond broadcasting, he is also known as a broadcaster who actively participates in various social contribution activities, spreading positive influence.
As the Public Relations Ambassador, Kim Won-hyo will attend major events over the next two years, participate in promotional video shoots, broadcast interviews, and engage in SNS activities. He will also take the lead in widely promoting the activities of the Busan Metropolitan City Autonomous Police and working with citizens to create a safer Busan.
Kim said with a smile, “Busan is my hometown where I was born and raised, and a city I always hold dear. I am very honored to serve as the Public Relations Ambassador for the autonomous police who are responsible for citizen safety in such a city.”
He added with a playful laugh, “As an ambassador, I will use my ‘voice’ to actively promote the role of the autonomous police and encourage more citizens to join in making Busan a safer place.”
