Seonghae Lee, Chairman of Korea Rail Network Authority, Inspects Shinsansan Line Railway Construction Site

The Korea Rail Network Authority (KR) announced on the 21st that Lee Seong-hae, Chairman of KR, visited the construction sites of Siheung Sageori Station in Section 3-1 and Gwangmyeong Station in Section 5-2 of the Sinansan Line railway construction on the 20th to conduct a safety inspection.

The Sinansan Line double-track electrified railway is being promoted as a private investment project. This project aims to establish an X-shaped metropolitan railway network connecting the southwestern metropolitan area and downtown Seoul. Construction began in April 2020 and is scheduled for full section opening by 2026.

Chairman Lee stated, “We will strive to ensure that the Sinansan Line railway construction project opens as promised to the public by the end of 2026,” adding, “The Korea Rail Network Authority will make every effort to maintain thorough on-site safety management so that construction proceeds without any setbacks.”
