At the resolution meeting, the corporation's executives and airport managers from 14 airports across the country attended to discuss measures to enhance safety innovation throughout airport operations.

They shared practical measures to strengthen responsibility at airport sites, including ▲ advanced operation of an integrated safety training center to prevent construction accidents at Gimpo Airport ▲ strengthening disaster response capabilities for abnormal situations at Jeju Airport ▲ conducting safety coaching for contractors on commissioned projects at Cheongju Airport. They also reaffirmed their commitment to practicing safety management to create a flawless safe airport.

The corporation also invited Ko Kwang-jae, a safety management committee member of Seoul City and an external expert in safety, to cultivate the executives' safety awareness and conducted special preventive education using cases such as the Osong underground passage citizen disaster.

Following a series of recent domestic and international aviation accidents, the corporation has inspected the safety management status of airport facilities nationwide since the beginning of the year and conducted special inspections of aviation safety facilities such as instrument landing systems at airports. During the special traffic control period for the Lunar New Year holiday last month, it focused on inspecting airports and passenger convenience facilities overall.

Going forward, the corporation plans to conduct continuous monitoring of all areas, including airport safety enhancement, in cooperation with private experts in addition to regular inspections. The policy is to focus on identifying and resolving potential risk factors in advance.

Lee Jeong-gi, acting president of the corporation, said, "We will prioritize airport safety as the highest value and do our best to strengthen the safety management system to create an airport environment that the public can trust."
