Fire at Pig Farm in Seocheon, Chungnam... 1,100 Pigs Dead

Property Damage Estimated at 290 Million Won

At around 7:52 p.m. on the 15th, a fire broke out at a pig farm in Hwayang-myeon, Seocheon-gun, South Chungcheong Province, resulting in the death of 1,100 pigs.

According to the Seocheon Fire Station on the 17th, the fire caused property damage estimated at 290 million won, including the destruction of three lightweight steel-framed buildings (319 square meters).

The fire was extinguished at around 9:32 p.m., and no human casualties were reported.

The police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
