Retired Public Officials with Rich Administrative Experience and Local Expertise Serve as Counselors
Assisting with Various Civil Complaints Including Permits and Licenses, and Conveying Residents' Suggestions
Inje-gun, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Choi Sang-gi) is receiving enthusiastic responses for its civil complaint counseling officer system implemented for the convenience of residents.
According to Inje-gun on the 17th, last year the counseling officers recorded 1,337 counseling cases, accumulating a total of 1,938 cases over two years.
The civil complaint counseling officer system is an administrative service that provides counseling, administrative information guidance, and assistance with application document preparation for residents facing difficulties with complex civil complaints and various permits and approvals. To operate this system, Inje-gun appoints retired public officials with rich administrative experience and familiarity with local conditions as counseling officers.

The main topics of counseling are closely related to residents' property and daily life, such as construction, development activities, roads, and rivers. In addition, counseling on special cases such as agricultural support projects, farming consultations, and complex and diverse civil complaints has also continued.
Moreover, the civil complaint counseling officers serve as a communication channel between the administration and residents. They listen to and collect residents' suggestions and improvement requests, deliver them to the relevant departments, and convey the departments' responses to the residents in an easy-to-understand manner, playing the role of problem solvers and gaining great popularity.
Accordingly, Inje-gun has appointed six civil complaint counseling officers this year and deployed them at three locations: the county office civil complaint office, the Agricultural Technology Center, and the Eup/Myeon Administrative Welfare Centers, continuing the operation.
The Inje-gun Office civil complaint office offers counseling from Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and the Agricultural Technology Center provides counseling twice a week on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In addition, the Inje-eup and Buk-myeon Administrative Welfare Centers operate once a week on Wednesdays, and the Seohwa-myeon Administrative Welfare Center operates once a week on Thursdays.
An official from Inje-gun said, “The civil complaint counseling officers for residents are open to everyone,” and added, “If you have any civil complaints that you have been curious about or found difficult, please do not hesitate to visit the civil complaint counseling officers.”
