The Volunteer Fire Brigade of Changwon City, Gyeongnam, held the inauguration and retirement ceremony for the 7th President of the Changwon City Male Volunteer Fire Brigade Federation at the Jinhae JK Convention Center.

The event held on the 14th was attended by more than 150 people, including Jo Myung-rae, the 2nd Vice Mayor of Changwon City, Son Tae-hwa, Chairman of the Changwon City Council, and Lee Sang-gi, Chief of the Changwon Fire Headquarters.
The Changwon City Volunteer Fire Brigade Federation, established in 2012, consists of 55 teams with a total of 1,806 members, playing a crucial role in ensuring the safety of the region. The members, while managing their own livelihoods, perform important duties at various disaster sites such as fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical activities, and actively participate in community service activities.
At the event, the new President Kim Ki-deok was inaugurated as the 7th president of the federation. President Kim was recognized for his past efforts and leadership and will lead the federation for the next two years.
In his inaugural speech, he expressed his aspiration, saying, “I believe that faithfully performing the role of the volunteer fire brigade at various disaster sites is the shortcut to creating a safe Changwon, and I will do my best to serve based on trust with my fellow members.”
Meanwhile, the outgoing 6th President Kim Young-gi received a plaque of appreciation in recognition of his contributions to community safety and fire prevention during his term.
Vice Mayor Jo said in his congratulatory speech, “I congratulate the inauguration of the new President Kim Ki-deok and look forward to active activities so that the Volunteer Fire Brigade Federation can become the main force of safety and volunteer activities in Changwon City.”
