The Dongseo-Dong-A Glocal Alliance University aims to secure growth engines for the Busan region through industry-academia-government collaboration, focusing on four specialized fields: Energy Tech, Bio Health, Cultural Contents, and Busan Heritage, in connection with local industries, and to realize mutual benefits between Busan City and the universities.

This employment camp took a step forward in nurturing local settlement-type professional talent by providing practical education linked to employment in specialized local fields through collaboration with Sejeong (CEO Kim Song-woo, Lee Joo-hyung), a leading comprehensive fashion company in Busan.

The camp featured various programs under the theme “One-day BX Practical Talk,” including branding lectures, a design competition consisting of team projects, portfolio writing lectures, and mentoring by senior professionals working in the design industry.

In particular, during the design competition, students from both universities cooperated to discuss and present team-based designs for ESG management product development and marketing utilization plans. They received real-time feedback from current employees of the Sejeong Group, enabling information exchange and showcasing diverse creativity.

Additionally, mentoring by senior alumni working in the design industry from both universities provided direct motivation to participating students and helped deepen their understanding of job roles and improve their skills.

Ji Eun-hee (Dongseo University, 3rd year, Product Interaction Design major), a participant in the camp, said, “I was able to gain a lot of information by sharing portfolios of successful candidates and directly asking questions to practitioners. I would like to participate in the program again.”

In the future, the Dongseo-Dong-A Glocal Alliance University plans to design and operate industry-academia joint programs with excellent companies in the Busan area for students in various majors such as cultural contents and energy tech to nurture specialized local settlement-type professional talent.

Jung Do-woon, Director of Student and Employment Support at Dongseo University, said, “This is the second design professional talent development program following the previous Future Mobility Professional Talent Development Camp. Moreover, this program is significant as a local industry-academia cooperation program.” He added, “We will continue to expand practical education linked to local industries in various fields and do our best to nurture glocal talents.”
