Musk Brings Son to White House Press Conference
Grimes Expresses Discontent: "The Child Should Not Be Publicly Shown"
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and head of the U.S. Trump administration's second-term advisory body 'Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE),' faced criticism from the mother of his child and his ex-girlfriend after bringing his young son to a White House press conference and standing him beside him. On the 11th (local time), Yonhap News reported that "Grimes, a Canadian singer, expressed her opposition to Musk CEO publicly showing their son in front of the media, saying 'He should not be in such a public place' in a post on her X (formerly Twitter)."

In the post, Grimes said, "I didn't see this, but thanks for letting me know," adding, "But I'm glad he behaved politely. Sigh." This was a reply to another X user who first commented to Grimes, "Lil X (the son of Musk CEO and Grimes) was very polite today. You raised him well. It was really cute when he said to DJT (President Donald Trump), 'Please forgive me, I have to pee.'"
Earlier, Musk CEO appeared at a White House Oval Office press conference the day before carrying his 4-year-old son, 'X Æ A-Xii,' on his shoulders. He stood beside the 'Resolute Desk' where President Trump was seated and placed his son in front of him during his approximately 30-minute speech. The young child attracted attention by showing innocent behavior such as picking his nose or yawning while his father spoke, closely approaching President Trump, looking at him, or hanging on the desk and sitting down. Musk CEO has often brought his son to public events, which has raised concerns among some about the child's safety.

In January, an X user advised Grimes, "Why do you let your son be exposed like that?" to which Grimes replied, "I have made it clear in every possible way I know that I do not allow it," adding, "I am desperate to resolve this issue, but it is a personal tragedy for me." Grimes, the mother of the child, dated Musk CEO for about three years from 2018 to 2021.
During that time, in May 2020, they had their first son, X Æ A-Xii. Also, around the time they broke up at the end of 2021, they had a daughter named 'Exa Dark Sideræl' through a surrogate. Even after separating from Musk CEO, they mutually agreed and had another son through a surrogate in 2022, naming him 'Techno Mechanicus.' Meanwhile, Musk CEO has a total of 12 children. He had six children with his first spouse, fantasy novelist Justine Wilson; three with Grimes; and three with Shivon Zilis, an executive at Neuralink, a brain science startup he founded.
