Jeollanam-do announced on the 12th that starting from the 17th, it will officially operate a customized mental health healing program for vulnerable groups at the Jeonnam Mental Health Healing Center located in Jangheung.
The customized mental health healing program for vulnerable groups is designed to help improve emotional stability and quality of life for basic livelihood security recipients, seniors aged 65 and over, and adolescents. Last year, with support of 1 billion KRW from the lottery fund, programs such as 'Warmth of the Mind', 'Youth of the Mind', and 'Emergency Exit' were introduced for the first time.
Participant satisfaction reached 97%. This year, the program will be operated with Jeollanam-do's own budget. It is expected that participants will find psychological stability and enjoy a happier life through customized healing activities tailored to their psychological state. Jeollanam-do plans to continuously expand and operate various programs in cooperation with the center.
The Jeonnam Mental Health Healing Center was established in 2020 at Jangheung Integrated Medical Hospital with a special grant of 800 million KRW. It is the only center in the country that operates integrated mental health healing programs for the general public year-round. Currently, it offers a variety of services, including stress tests, body composition analysis, and Sasang constitution tests, as well as one-day or overnight healing programs linked to the Jangheung Hinoki Forest.
In addition, about 1.9 billion KRW from the local extinction response fund will be invested this year to improve and expand the facilities of the Jeonnam Mental Health Healing Center.
The healing programs at the Jeonnam Mental Health Healing Center are operated year-round. For participation applications and further details, please contact the center or local public health centers in Jeollanam-do.
Lee Sangsim, Director of Health and Welfare at Jeollanam-do, said, "Based on the high satisfaction of the program, we will actively support its substantial operation so that it can provide a healthy life for those experiencing psychological difficulties."
