Lee Junseok Says "Let's Return to Our Original Intentions"...Heo Eunah Urges "Lee Must Truly Reform"

Lee: "I Will Strive Forward with a Mindset of Self-Reflection"
Calls for Unity After Court Dismisses Heo Eunah's Injunction
Heo Eunah Responds, Urges Lee to Seek True Repentance and Reform

Lee Junseok, a member of the Reform Innovation Party, commented on the termination of former leader Heo Eunah's duties following the court's decision to dismiss her injunction, stating, "Let us return to the original intentions we had on the day we founded the party and move forward together."

On February 9, Lee wrote on his Facebook page, "I stepped down as party leader so that a diverse range of people could have opportunities during the party's expansion, but I regret that the outcome was not positive."

Lee added, "It is unfortunate for any political party when an elected leadership is unable to complete its term. With the mindset of 'jogogakha' (照顧脚下, meaning 'look carefully at your own feet'), I will reflect on my own position and listen to voices of criticism, using this as an opportunity to strive further."

He also referenced the story of Julius Caesar in the Roman era, who showed magnanimity even to those who opposed him after becoming victorious, and urged, "I ask all party members and supporters to also reflect on this incident and show patience and tolerance to all those who, having learned from this, wish to work for the party again."

In response to Lee's message, former leader Heo criticized, "In order to move forward, one must humbly reflect on what has been left behind," and added, "What Lee needs is not jogogakha, but true repentance and reform."

Heo further stated, "Politics is not something one does alone, but together with others. Lee has practiced a style of politics where he uses people and discards them when they are no longer needed. He has created numerous adversaries through divisive politics."

Previously, on February 7, the court dismissed the injunction filed by Heo against the suspension of her duties as party leader, which had been requested by Lee's leadership group. The Reform Innovation Party had decided to remove Heo from her leadership position based on the results of a party member recall vote held on January 24 and 25. Heo filed for an injunction to suspend the effect of this decision, but the court rejected her request.
