Gwangju Seo-gu Conducts Intensive Inspection of Defects in Housing Construction Projects

Seo-gu, Gwangju (District Mayor Kim Ikang) will implement an "Intensive Defect Inspection for Housing Construction Projects, Monitored as If They Were My Own Home" starting this year.


According to Seo-gu on the 6th, this inspection aims to minimize defects in apartment complexes scheduled for occupancy inspections and to enhance residents' satisfaction with their living environment.


Seo-gu has formed an inspection team consisting of experts in architecture, structure, construction, and civil engineering to address complaints and inconveniences related to delays in occupancy and inspections caused by construction delays and various defects in apartment complexes.

The inspection team will conduct intensive checks before the pre-move-in visits by prospective residents, thoroughly examining the quality of construction. Based on the inspection results, contractors will be required to promptly address any issues, which is expected to improve the quality of apartment complexes and minimize disputes related to defects.


District Mayor Kim Ikang stated, "By conducting meticulous defect inspections with the mindset of 'this is my own home,' we will ensure the safety of new apartment complexes, reduce maintenance costs, and improve the satisfaction of prospective residents." He added, "Through thorough quality control at housing construction sites, we will strive to ensure that residents can enjoy a happy life in their new homes."
