Collecting Opinions on Human Rights Policy Directions and More
Gwangju Dong-gu (District Mayor Lim Taek) announced on the 6th that it will hold a public hearing on the 10th for the "3rd Basic Plan for the Guarantee and Promotion of Human Rights" to ensure the continuous development of the human rights city.
The "3rd Dong-gu Basic Plan for the Guarantee and Promotion of Human Rights," a mid- to long-term plan spanning five years (2025-2029), is a comprehensive plan that sets the fundamental direction for human rights policies.
This public hearing, to be held at the Pureunmaeul Community Center, is organized to gather diverse opinions from residents and experts regarding the 3rd Basic Plan for the Guarantee and Promotion of Human Rights. The event will proceed with an explanation of the basic plan, followed by collecting opinions from residents and related experts.
The draft plan includes the achievements and evaluations of the 2nd Basic Plan, as well as policy directions, implementation strategies, and detailed tasks for each key area through 2029. Notably, the 3rd Basic Plan for Human Rights has been structured using the rights classification of the Gwangju Human Rights Charter, moving beyond the existing framework and reflecting departmental feedback to create a more effective plan.
District Mayor Lim Taek stated, "We hope for active participation in the public hearing so that residents' awareness of human rights can be enhanced and human rights can be more broadly guaranteed," adding, "Based on the feedback collected through this public hearing, we will further refine the 'Basic Plan for the Guarantee and Promotion of Human Rights.'"
