Continued Support for Customized Health and Rehabilitation Programs
for Local Students with Developmental Disabilities This Year
Hamyang County Public Health Center in Gyeongnam provided various customized educational support for children with disabilities and special education targets from dual-income and single-parent families as part of the community-centered rehabilitation project through the ‘2025 Winter Vacation Hope Growing Open School’.
The ‘Hope Growing Open School’ is a program organized annually during vacation periods by the Gyeongsangnam-do Parents Association for the Disabled Hamyang Branch, offering various educational and experiential opportunities to children with disabilities to enhance social skills and provide a beneficial vacation experience. It is conducted in collaboration with Hamyang County Public Health Center to reduce the caregiving burden on families.
At this open school, Hamyang County Public Health Center provided customized health care management programs for children with developmental disabilities, including oral health education and fluoride application treatment, nutrition theory and practical training, and rehabilitation (physical education) classes.
A health center official stated, “We will continue to support customized health care management rehabilitation programs to provide local children with disabilities opportunities to realize their potential and improve their quality of life.”
