Wando Marine Healing Center Attracts 1,200 Visitors During Lunar New Year Holiday

Over 60,000 Visitors Since Opening in 2023

Wando Marine Healing Center, the first marine healing facility in Korea, was bustling with visitors during the Lunar New Year holiday.

According to Wando County in Jeonnam on the 3rd, more than 200 visitors per day, totaling 1,200 people, visited the Marine Healing Center during the holiday period from January 25 to 30. Since its opening in November 2023, the total number of visitors has surpassed 60,000.

Wando Marine Healing Center is the only facility in Korea offering various healing programs utilizing marine resources such as seaweed and mud. On the first floor, visitors can enjoy thalasso pools, meditation pools, seawater mist, seaweed foam, and mud therapy. On the second floor, after a health assessment, guests can experience a total of 16 therapy programs including seawater pools, low-frequency treatments, seaweed mud wrapping, stone therapy, and aromatherapy.

An official from the county stated, "Reservations for both the first and second floors were fully booked early during the Lunar New Year holiday, and there was significant interest from overseas as well, with over 40 tourists from Taiwan visiting. We plan to further promote marine healing programs and strengthen our position as a wellness tourism city through a variety of events."

Meanwhile, Wando Marine Healing Center is currently running various promotions, including a first anniversary event and special discounts for middle and high school students, until the end of this month.
