On the 3rd, Dangjin City in Chungnam Province announced that it has established a new Road Permit Team through an organizational restructuring planned for 2025, aiming to maximize the efficiency of road occupancy permit operations.
The city, in cooperation with Mirae N Sea Energy Co., Ltd., has introduced a system that consolidates 420 individual road occupancy permits, previously managed separately for the installation of city gas pipelines, into 14 integrated districts by town and township.
Through this, the city has simplified the processes for imposing occupancy fees, sending out notices, and extending permit periods, thereby minimizing administrative inefficiency and significantly reducing the administrative burden on local businesses.
In cases where notices were omitted due to failure to extend the permit period, the city expects an increase in tax revenue through the imposition of additional occupancy fees.
Furthermore, with this integrated management of road occupancy permits, the city anticipates minimizing the repetitiveness of administrative tasks and enabling faster civil service processing by centrally managing the permit issuance and occupancy fee collection tasks that were previously handled separately by each town and township.
Dangjin Mayor Oh Seonghwan stated, "Road occupancy permit operations are an important area for both citizens and businesses, and through integrated management, we will accelerate civil complaint processing and strengthen our cooperative relationships with businesses."
