Applications Accepted Until the End of Next Month
Reflected in Next Year's City Budget
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province is accepting submissions for the '2026 Budget Planning Resident Participation Budget Resident Proposal Project' until the 31st of next month.
The proposed projects should be benefit-enhancing initiatives that can provide advantages to a large number of local residents. Anyone residing in Hwaseong City, employed by a company, or enrolled in a school within the city can apply. The budget scale is up to 300 million KRW for city-level projects and up to 50 million KRW for eup/myeon/dong-level projects.
However, projects that violate laws or ordinances, involve other institutions' affairs, are multi-year projects (over 2 years), involve establishment or reinforcement of administrative offices, or support specific individuals or groups may be excluded as inappropriate projects.
Applications can be submitted through the Hwaseong City Resident e-Participation website. For in-person submissions, applicants can submit the application form at the nearest eup/myeon/dong administrative welfare center or the Hwaseong City Budget and Finance Division. Submitted proposals will undergo review by the relevant department and evaluation by the Resident Participation Budget Committee before final selection. Selected proposals will be reflected in the 2026 budget.
Kim Seon-il, head of the Hwaseong City Budget and Finance Division, stated, "The resident participation budget system is a system where residents directly participate in the budget planning process, enhancing the transparency and reliability of the budget. We will actively discover projects that reflect residents' opinions and meet local policy demands."
