Lighthouse Woodcraft Volunteer Group Donates 40 Handcrafted Dining Tables
to the Local Community with Sincerity

POSCO Pohang Steelworks delivered warm kindness to the local community on the 24th by donating 40 solid wood dining tables, directly crafted by the Lighthouse Woodcraft Volunteer Group of the Labor-Management Council, to the Cheongnim-dong and Jecheol-dong Administrative Welfare Centers.

The Lighthouse Woodcraft Volunteer Group is POSCO’s representative volunteer organization, composed of worker representatives from the Labor-Management Council and employee representatives from various departments.

Since its establishment in 2020, the group has crafted over 400 wooden furniture pieces and donated them to neighbors including Korean War veterans, leading community sharing efforts.

The solid wood dining tables donated on this day are scheduled to be delivered to elderly residents in each area through the two administrative welfare centers.

In particular, the volunteer group’s donation activities go beyond simple provision of goods, serving as an opportunity to strengthen the bond between Pohang Steelworks and the local community, adding greater significance.

Kim Cheol-geun, former representative of POSCO Labor-Management Council workers, said, “We hope the dining tables made with sincerity will be a small help in the daily lives of the elderly. We feel that small actions can come together to bring about big changes.”

POSCO Pohang Steelworks currently operates a total of 45 volunteer talent groups, with more than 5,000 employees participating and contributing over 170,000 hours of service. The increasing active participation of younger generation employees is revitalizing sharing activities.
