Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 21st that it will establish and operate an emergency medical system in cooperation with local medical institutions and pharmacies to prevent medical service gaps during the Lunar New Year holiday period.
To prepare for patient occurrences during the Lunar New Year holiday and protect citizens' health, designated medical institutions and pharmacies will be operated (140 clinics and hospitals, 388 pharmacies), and Deokyang-gu Public Health Center plans to maintain a primary care system through in-house treatment on the holiday itself (January 29).
Additionally, on the 20th, the Goyang City Emergency Medical Council was held to share emergency medical response plans for the Lunar New Year holiday with local emergency medical institutions, Dalbit Children's Hospital, and the fire station, and to discuss cooperation measures to ensure the smooth operation of the emergency medical system.
During the Lunar New Year holiday, public health centers will manage the operation status of open medical institutions and pharmacies through the emergency medical system and inspect whether normal medical services are being provided to ensure there are no disruptions in emergency medical care.
The status of medical institutions and pharmacies operating during the holiday period can be checked through private portals, the Emergency Medical Information Center, or the city website, and can also be confirmed via the Goyang City Civil Service Call Center.
