Delivery of Blankets, Daily Necessities, and Sponsorship Funds to 150 Neighbor Households
Various Social Contribution Activities Planned for 40th Anniversary of Subway Opening
Busan Transportation Corporation (President Lee Byung-jin) announced on the 20th that it held the ‘Beautiful Sharing Bundle’ event on the 18th to provide daily necessities to vulnerable groups in the local community.
The ‘Beautiful Sharing Bundle’ is an event that delivers food and daily necessities to elderly people living alone who are experiencing economic and environmental difficulties ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday. This event was jointly hosted by the corporation and Beautiful Store.
The sharing bundles consisted of blankets, food, and daily necessities worth about 100,000 KRW, and about 140 corporation employees and citizen volunteers participated as delivery angels. The delivery angels delivered a total of 150 bundles to 150 households, and the volunteers not only delivered the items but also checked on the well-being of the elderly, practicing neighborly love.
In addition, President Lee Byung-jin and executives plan to visit six welfare facilities in the region, including Geoje Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, to deliver sponsorship funds of 3.5 million KRW.
Lee Byung-jin, President of Busan Transportation Corporation, said, “I hope the sharing bundles filled with sincerity will bring warm comfort to elderly people living alone ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday,” and added, “We will strive to widely promote the value of sharing through various social contribution activities and strengthen solidarity with the local community.”
Busan Transportation Corporation plans to expand the culture of sharing through various social contribution activities this year to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the opening of Busan Urban Railway, including repairing old houses, providing essential furniture and home appliances free of charge, and delivering sponsorship funds for local children with illnesses.
