"Certain That First Lady Kim Must Go to Prison"
With an arrest warrant filed against President Yoon Suk-yeol, Park Ji-won, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated that if First Lady Kim Geon-hee also goes to prison, he would "adopt and raise the presidential couple's pet dog 'Tori'."
Park Ji-won, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, expressed his intention to adopt the pet dog of President Yoon Seok-yeol and his wife.
On the 17th, appearing on KBC Gwangju Broadcasting's 'Yeouido Invitation,' Park analyzed, "The fact that President Yoon saw Tori on the morning of the day he was arrested means he did something because he was anxious." He added, "I just found out yesterday that the pet dog Tori is a Jindo dog," and said, "Jindo dogs are loyal to their owners, but if First Lady Kim Geon-hee goes to prison, Tori can't follow her to prison, right?" expressing his intention to adopt the dog. "I will take care of Tori and bring him to Jindo," he said. "Since Tori learned loyalty from his bad owners, the presidential couple, I will take him to Jindo and make him a Jindo dog loyal to a good owner." Park's electoral district is Haenam, Wando, and Jindo in Jeollanam-do, famous for Jindo dogs.
Earlier, it was reported that when the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Unit (PCC) executed the arrest warrant on President Yoon, he met separately with First Lady Kim Geon-hee and their pet dog Tori before leaving the official residence.

Park said, "First Lady Kim must go to prison unconditionally. She has no choice but to go," and expressed confidence, "She will soon go through the Kim Geon-hee special prosecutor law and others." Since last July, Kim Geon-hee has been under investigation by the prosecution over allegations related to Deutsche Motors stock manipulation and luxury bags and has hardly appeared publicly. The opposition, including the Democratic Party, is accelerating the re-proposal of the 'Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor Law,' considering the possibility that she was involved in President Yoon's December 3 emergency martial law incident. The investigation targets outlined in the special prosecutor law reportedly include a total of 15 cases: allegations of interference in the June 2022 local elections and by-elections, interference in the April 10 general election last year, allegations of election fraud during the 2022 presidential election and primary process through Myung Tae-kyun, allegations of receiving luxury bags, and Deutsche Motors stock manipulation.
He also said, "I lived in Seoul Detention Center for three years. Now that the arrest warrant has been issued, (President Yoon) will wear a numbered prison uniform. Sitting in a room wearing a prison uniform is miserable," and directed a sharp message to President Yoon: "Be honest. Even if it’s the last time, don’t disappoint the people, ask for forgiveness, don’t pass the responsibility to your subordinates, and take it upon yourself."
