The police announced on the 20th that they will launch a full-scale crackdown system to ensure that the "1st Nationwide Simultaneous Saemaeul Geumgo Chairman Election" held on March 5 this year is conducted fairly.
From the day of preliminary candidate registration application, the police will form special investigation teams for election-related crimes at police stations nationwide to strengthen intelligence gathering on various illegal activities.
The police have defined three major election crimes: ▲bribery ▲spreading false information ▲illegal election interference by Geumgo executives and employees, and plan to respond strictly.
A police official stated, "To realize a fair election, not only the efforts of the police but also active reporting and tips from Geumgo officials and the public are important," and added, "Please actively report various illegal activities such as bribery, which frequently occur during the entrusted election process, to 112 or the nearest police station."
