Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Institute of Health and Environment (Director Jeon Kyungsik) announced that it will conduct a special safety inspection of popular holiday foods to ensure residents can enjoy safe food during the Lunar New Year holiday.
This special inspection targets foods that see a surge in consumption during the holiday season, including ▲processed foods (such as Hangwa, rice cakes, etc.) ▲health functional foods (such as red ginseng products) ▲agricultural and marine products (items for ancestral rites and gifts).
The inspection items include ▲microorganisms ▲heavy metals ▲pesticide residues ▲compliance with food preservatives standards, with a thorough review of factors that could threaten the health of residents.
If any non-compliant foods are found during the inspection, the relevant authorities will be immediately notified for recall and disposal, and strict administrative measures will be taken against the related businesses.
Jeon Kyungsik, Director of Jeonbuk Institute of Health and Environment, stated, "Through this inspection, we will promptly eliminate non-compliant foods and create an environment where residents can purchase food with confidence," adding, "We will continue to prioritize the health and safety of residents through ongoing safety inspections."
