Busan Transportation Corporation, Public Transportation Promotion Slogan Contest

Applications accepted until the 25th,
Nine outstanding entries to be selected

Busan Transportation Corporation (President Lee Byung-jin) announced on the 15th that it will hold a "Slogan Contest for Revitalizing Public Transportation Centered on Urban Rail" open to all citizens interested in public transportation.


The contest will run from the 15th to the 28th and was organized to raise awareness and build consensus on the use of public transportation centered on urban rail.


Any citizen interested in promoting public transportation can participate. Participants can submit up to two entries per person, with concise and appealing slogans (within 30 characters, mixing Korean and English allowed) that clearly express the representative advantages of urban rail and the necessity of revitalizing public transportation.


The corporation will evaluate entries based on four criteria: originality, symbolism, effectiveness, and suitability. After internal screening and a public preference survey, a total of nine entries will be selected (1 grand prize, 3 excellence awards, and 5 encouragement awards). The results will be announced on February 14 and can be checked on the website. Winners will receive a cash prize and a certificate.


The final selected slogan will be used in major promotional activities and related projects of the corporation, along with the grand prize-winning entry chosen through an internal contest among employees. Applications can be submitted through the corporation’s website and must be received by 11:59 PM on the 28th.


Lee Byung-jin, President of Busan Transportation Corporation, said, “I hope this contest will serve as an opportunity to increase Busan citizens’ interest in revitalizing public transportation,” and added, “We will strive to establish a culture of using public transportation centered on urban rail through promotional activities utilizing the selected slogans.”


Since January 1, the corporation has formed a Public Transportation Revitalization Task Force consisting of 17 members to make company-wide efforts to promote the use of public transportation centered on urban rail. They have identified 17 tasks across three major areas?△ transportation policy improvement △ convenience enhancement △ public promotion?to fully commit to the development of Busan’s public transportation.
