Gwangsan-gu in Gwangju is implementing a comprehensive plan to ensure the stability of citizens' daily lives ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.

Gwangsan-gu announced that from the 14th to the 30th, it will carry out a comprehensive plan consisting of 26 tasks across 7 areas, including support for marginalized neighbors and measures for price stabilization and economic crisis response.

First, consolation gifts will be delivered and well-being checks conducted for 7,970 households and social welfare facilities in welfare blind spots. During the holiday, 648 seniors will receive alternative meals at five senior meal centers. Children at risk of missing meals will receive support through meal card recharges.

In addition, the prices and origins of popular holiday goods will be monitored, and difficulties faced by local businesses will be addressed through meetings. A wage arrears reporting center will be operated to protect workers' rights.

To prepare for heavy snow and cold waves in winter, a 24-hour disaster safety comprehensive situation room will be operated, and safety inspections will be strengthened for multi-use facilities and major gas facilities.

Furthermore, an "Emergency Medical Response Situation Room" will be operated, and the emergency medical system will be checked. Information on medical institutions and pharmacies operating during the holiday will be actively promoted to citizens through the Gwangsan-gu and Gwangsan-gu Public Health Center websites and social media channels.

Additionally, except for the day of the Lunar New Year on the 29th, household waste will be collected daily throughout the holiday, and illegal dumping of waste and unauthorized advertisements will be monitored and controlled.
