Applications Accepted from 9th to 21st... In-person Registration at Provincial Office
Jeju Special Self-Governing Province announced on the 8th that it will be recruiting candidates for the "2025 Youth Fishing Village Settlement Support Project" from the 9th to the 21st to help young fishery entrepreneurs in the early stages of their business settle stably in fishing villages.
This project provides fisheries management and household funds to fishery entrepreneurs with less than three years of experience to support their stable settlement in fishing villages during the early stages of their business.
Eligible applicants are actual residents of Jeju aged 18 or older but under 40 as of 2025, who have less than three years of fishery management experience and have either completed or been exempted from military service.
If selected, first-year young fishery entrepreneurs will receive 1.1 million KRW per month, second-year entrepreneurs 1 million KRW per month, and third-year entrepreneurs 900,000 KRW per month.
Selection will be based on a two-step process: applicants scoring 60 points or more in the document review will be shortlisted for interviews, and those who score an average of 60 points or more in the interview will be ranked from 1st to 6th for final selection. If there are ties, those with higher scores will be given priority.
Youth fishery entrepreneurs wishing to apply should check the announcement on the Jeju Province website, prepare the application form, business plan, and required documents, and submit them in person with identification to the Fisheries Policy Division at Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Office.
Oh Sangpil, Director of the Fisheries Policy Division of Jeju Province, said, "We will actively support the stable settlement of young fishery entrepreneurs in the early stages of their business through the Youth Fishing Village Settlement Support Fund."
