Support for Youth with Migration Backgrounds and 1,000 Won Meals
Gwangsan-gu in Gwangju has started fundraising for designated donation projects under the Hometown Love Donation Program.
On the 8th, Gwangsan-gu announced that it will implement a total of two projects: the "Cultural Adaptation Project for Youth with Migrant Backgrounds" and "Support for Operation of the 1,000-Won Meal Program."
The "Cultural Adaptation Project for Youth with Migrant Backgrounds" provides education in both Korean and native languages for youth with migrant backgrounds, and supports cultural experience events, mentoring, and career counseling.
The "Support for Operation of the 1,000-Won Meal Program" helps ensure the stable operation of restaurants offering affordable meals to vulnerable groups in need of care and providing jobs for local seniors.
The fundraising targets for each project are 60 million won and 54 million won, respectively, and the projects will be fully implemented once the targets are reached.
The district has also selected additional suppliers to provide return gifts such as traditional patterned crafts and increased the number of agricultural and livestock products to 87 items.
District Mayor Park Byungkyu said, "We hope for the active participation of all those who love and care for Gwangsan-gu."
