LG Electronics announced on the 6th that it will unveil the '2025 LG OLED Evo,' featuring brighter and clearer picture quality combined with smart artificial intelligence (AI), at 'CES 2025,' the world's largest electronics and information technology (IT) exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA, from the 7th to the 10th (local time).

The '2025 LG OLED Evo' applies a new brightness enhancement technology that changes the display algorithm and the organic compound layering structure, achieving a maximum brightness three times that of a standard OLED TV (B5 model). The brighter screen further maximizes the OLED's advantage of contrast ratio, vividly expressing images with rich visual effects.

The 2025 LG OLED TV is equipped with an OLED display that has received both the 'Perfect Black' and 'Perfect Color' certifications from the global certification body 'UL Solutions,' guaranteeing consistent black and general color expression regardless of screen brightness or ambient light. Additionally, another certification body, 'Intertek,' awarded the 'Color Volume 100%' certification this year to all LG OLED TV models, measuring the faithful reproduction of rich colors in original content without distortion. The 2025 LG OLED Evo is the only OLED TV on the market to also receive the 'Fast High-Quality Image Expression Stability' certification from 'TUV Rheinland,' officially recognizing its performance in quickly stabilizing picture quality after the TV is turned on.

LG Electronics' uniquely developed OLED-dedicated AI processor for picture and sound quality, 'Alpha 11,' further enhances the picture and sound quality of the OLED Evo. Alpha 11 subdivides the TV screen at the pixel level to upscale the picture and adjust brightness, delivering more delicate detail expression and uniform picture quality.

It also analyzes the size of the space where the TV is installed and furniture arrangement to convert 2-channel audio sources into an 11.1.2-channel virtual spatial sound optimized for the installation environment. It distinguishes between characters' voices and background sounds in content to provide clearer sound.

LG OLED TVs have been recognized for such picture and sound quality, receiving a total of five innovation awards at CES 2025 from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), including the highest innovation award in the video and display category (G5 model).

Moreover, the new product significantly enhances AI functionality accessibility by incorporating an AI-dedicated button on the Magic Remote (AI remote). When users turn on the TV using the AI button, it enters 'AI Welcome' mode. The AI analyzes TV usage history and recommends content while greeting users with weather- and time-appropriate messages, allowing users to enjoy an AI-based hyper-personalized experience from the moment the TV is turned on.

By pressing and holding the AI button during viewing, users can access features such as 'Picture/Sound Mode Settings' or 'Content Search Based on Viewing History.' Especially when changing picture/sound modes, users can say commands like "Make the screen warmer" or "Make the human voice clearer," and the AI suggests optimized example modes from approximately 1.6 billion picture modes and 40 million sound modes tailored to the customer's requests.

A short press of the AI button provides convenient access to functions suggested based on time-of-day usage patterns, such as 'Connect Game Console' or 'Set Sleep Timer.'

The new product also includes various AI-based convenience features such as 'Voice ID,' which provides personalized services by logging in with the voice owner's account; 'AI Chatbot,' which analyzes causes and suggests solutions for inquiries or issues during TV use; and 'Generative AI Gallery,' which creates desired images using generative AI.

This year’s LG smart TVs equipped with webOS25 have improved abilities to understand customer speech and infer intent by applying large language models (LLM).

LG OLED TVs have been recognized by multiple global media outlets as the 'best gaming TV,' earning acclaim for their differentiated gaming performance.

The 2025 LG OLED TV is the industry’s first to display 4K content at a variable refresh rate of up to 165Hz. It also supports graphics technologies such as NVIDIA's 'G-SYNC compatible' and AMD's 'FreeSync Premium,' ensuring smooth display even during fast-paced game transitions.

The 'Game Dashboard' applied to LG smart TVs allows convenient configuration of various gaming features. Selecting the current game genre?such as first-person shooter (FPS), real-time strategy (RTS), or role-playing game (RPG)?automatically adjusts frame rate per second, graphics technology, game map mode, and low latency mode accordingly, with options for users to customize individual settings.

In addition to gaming, features for movie enthusiasts are introduced. The 'Filmmaker Ambient Light' mode installed in the 2025 LG OLED Evo analyzes the lighting intensity of the viewing environment to automatically adjust brightness and picture quality, ensuring the original intent of the filmmaker is accurately conveyed.

LG OLED TV’s wireless AV transmission solution enables lossless and delay-free wireless transmission of 4K video at 144Hz refresh rate. It also applies technologies such as G-SYNC compatible and FreeSync Premium to minimize screen tearing in wireless environments, allowing smooth enjoyment of high-quality content and games.

This year, LG Electronics will expand its wireless TV lineup beyond OLED (M5) to include the premium LCD TV 'LG QNED Evo.' This will allow more customers to enjoy the freedom of space with no cables around the TV screen except for power.

Park Hyung-se, President of LG Electronics’ MS Business Division, said, "Since the first introduction of LG OLED TV in 2013, it has established itself as the standard for premium TVs by delivering a never-before-seen 'self-emissive' viewing experience. The 2025 LG OLED Evo, featuring a clearer screen and a smarter AI-based webOS platform, will provide immersive viewing experiences to customers worldwide."
