Security Office: "No Mobilization of Soldiers... Transition to Rear Duty Upon Arrival at the Corruption Investigation Office"

The Presidential Security Service stated on the 3rd that it has never mobilized soldiers enlisted to fulfill their military service obligations to obstruct the execution of an arrest warrant for President Yoon Suk-yeol.


In a notice released that day, the Security Service said, "Some media outlets reported that the 55th Guard Unit, composed of conscripted soldiers, was mobilized during the execution of the arrest warrant, but this is not true."

The Security Service explained, "The residential area is a military protection facility where the soldiers are normally stationed during peacetime. However, anticipating intensified confrontation upon the arrival of the Corruption Investigation Office, Security Service personnel replaced the soldiers, who were then reassigned to rear-area duties."


The 55th Guard Unit, belonging to the Army Capital Defense Command, is a security unit responsible for guarding the perimeter of the presidential residence and operates under the command and control of the Security Service.
