Jogabje on Yoon's Emergency Martial Law: "Commander-in-Chief Who Didn't Serve Playing Soldier"

Jokapje, Analysis of the Cause of Yoon's 12.3 Emergency Martial Law Failure
"Soldiers Virtually Refused Orders on President's Instruction"
"Failed to Calculate Time for National Assembly Response... A Great Relief"

Jo Gap-je, CEO of Jogapje.com, analyzed President Yoon Seok-yeol's declaration of the 12.3 emergency martial law as "a soldier's play by the military commander-in-chief" and said it "was bound to fail." On the 30th, on TV Chosun's 'Jang Won-jun Kim Mi-sun's New Nostradamus,' Jo said, "If the president gave such a radical order, the military should have carried it out, but no one was arrested, and the order was effectively refused, turning the martial law into President Yoon's soldier play," adding, "This was probably because the president, as the military commander-in-chief who never served in the military, was not accepted as legitimate by the soldiers."

In particular, Jo pointed out that President Yoon failed in time calculation. Although President Yoon declared martial law around 10:30 p.m. on the 3rd, most commanders only learned of the declaration after watching the broadcast, and as they organized units and headed to the site, it became impossible to carry out the operation. He criticized, "The president made the mistake of completely failing to calculate the military's preparation time for deployment, the time required to mobilize, and the time for the National Assembly to prepare for the operation."

Also, according to the publicly released group chat of the Counterintelligence Command's National Assembly deployment unit, there was an order around 12:38 a.m. on the 4th to secure the custody of three individuals?Woo Won-sik, Speaker of the National Assembly; Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party; and Han Dong-hoon, then leader of the People Power Party?and detain them at the Defense Security Command. However, the unit arrived at the National Assembly just 10 minutes before the resolution to lift martial law. Jo pointed out this was another failure in time calculation, unable to keep up with the National Assembly's response.

However, Jo said, "It is a great relief that it failed," criticizing, "There was no training or plan for an operation where mistakes are not allowed, and only a few people shared information. How could it have succeeded?"

Jo, regarded as a representative conservative commentator, has been strongly criticizing President Yoon's emergency martial law. On the 27th, appearing on SBS's ‘Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show,’ he rebuked President Yoon's statement that "there is no such thing as a two-hour rebellion; it was a warning," saying, "There is no such thing as a warning martial law in the world. This person, having worked as a special prosecutor for a long time, seems to view the people as suspects and underestimate the world."

He continued, "If he had been determined to risk his life and lose his position if he failed, would he have done it so clumsily? If you risk your life and fail, you should have resigned. Why make it so complicated? If you don't have the courage to risk your life or to resign, you shouldn't have done it," he criticized.
