Tariffs for Five Years Starting Early Next Year
On the 27th (local time), the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade announced that it will impose a 97% anti-dumping duty on Chinese-made wind power towers.
According to local media such as Thoi Thay, the Ministry of Industry and Trade made this decision after a 15-month investigation.
The Ministry explained, "The evidence collected shows that wind power towers imported from several Chinese companies were sold at dumping prices, causing significant damage to domestic manufacturing industries."
This tariff measure will be in effect for five years starting early next year. Products from Chinese companies, except for those like Jiangsu Zhenjiang New Energy Equipment, which were not found to have dumping allegations, are subject to the tariff.
Vietnamese authorities launched an investigation into the dumping of Chinese-made wind power towers in September last year. This action was taken following complaints from domestic manufacturers who reported damages.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, the Ministry of Industry and Trade suspended the service of the Chinese e-commerce platform Temu in Vietnam. Temu sold products without completing the business registration process by the deadline set by the Vietnamese government.
