Applications Accepted at District Offices and Administrative Welfare Centers from 2nd to 8th Next Month
Gwangju City announced on the 26th that it is recruiting 507 participants for the "2025 First Half Publicly Funded Job Program."
The "Publicly Funded Job Program" aims to provide jobs for the employment-vulnerable, promote livelihood stability, and revitalize the local economy.
This job program will assign 507 people to 257 projects, including Road Safety Guardians and Environmental Maintenance Projects (128 people for 84 public work projects and 379 people for 173 community jobs projects).
The application period is from January 2 to 8 next year. Any Gwangju citizen aged 18 or older with the ability to work, whose household income is at or below 70% of the median income and whose household assets are less than 400 million KRW, is eligible to apply. Priority points will be given to employment-vulnerable groups such as low-income households (at or below 60% of the median income), people with disabilities, long-term unemployed, female heads of households, and those protected under the Single-Parent Family Act.
The employment period will be from February to June next year. Working hours range from 15 to 40 hours per week, the hourly wage is 10,030 KRW (2025 minimum wage), and enrollment in the four major insurances is mandatory.
Citizens wishing to participate should bring their ID and submit an application form at the district office or administrative welfare center corresponding to their registered address. Each district will select participants in order of highest score based on the selection criteria evaluation table. Successful applicants will be individually notified by the end of January next year.
Shin Changho, Director of Labor and Employment Policy, said, "The publicly funded job program is being promoted to help low-income unemployed and employment-vulnerable groups establish a foundation for self-reliance. We hope that many interested citizens will participate and benefit from improved livelihood stability."
