The National Gwangju Science Museum has been selected as an outstanding institution for education donation.
According to the Gwangju Science Museum on the 26th, the Ministry of Education and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity have been operating the Outstanding Institution Certification System for Education Donation since 2011 to discover excellent public and private programs and expand and provide them to youth.
The museum runs programs such as the "Visiting Science Museum," which visits schools in remote areas, a two-day, one-night camp program called "Science Dream Tree Invitation Event" for underprivileged groups in science culture, and "Special Invitation Events on Closed Days."
In recognition of these contributions, the museum was selected as an outstanding institution. The qualification will be maintained for three years starting from January 1 next year.
Senior researcher Lee Junghwa said, "We will continue to operate various education donation activities for youth in the blind spots of science culture."
