Leading intelligent robot service company Clobot is showing strong performance. It appears that the news about Hyundai Motor Group's robot specialist affiliate Boston Dynamics showcasing a humanoid robot driven solely by electricity rather than hydraulics is influencing the stock price. Clobot is responsible for the official distribution and solution supply of Spot through a strategic partnership with Boston Dynamics.
As of 12:12 PM on the 24th, Clobot is trading at 7,420 KRW, up 15.22% from the previous day.
Boston Dynamics released a video featuring the bipedal robot 'All New Atlas' transformed into Santa performing stunts to celebrate Christmas. The All New Atlas is a humanoid robot driven solely by electricity rather than hydraulics, capable of more precise control compared to previous models, and can perform a wider range of movements using artificial intelligence (AI).
The 'Happy Holidays' video released by Boston Dynamics on the same day begins with the quadruped robot 'Spot' entering a building decorated with Christmas ornaments. The All New Atlas, dressed as Santa, performs a backward tumbling (somersault), and the video ends with the sound of people cheering.
A Hyundai Motor Group official said, "The All New Atlas is a robot capable of autonomous behavior with minimal human intervention."
Netizens responded in comments, saying, "The All New Atlas is much more powerful than I expected," and "The somersault looks smoother than hydraulic models."
In the robotics industry, Atlas is evaluated to have an advantage over Tesla robots due to its ability to perform dynamic, high-difficulty movements such as running, rolling, parkour, and overcoming obstacles. In October, it demonstrated an evolved AI-based work intelligence and grasping ability through a video showing it naturally moving an engine cover into a narrow storage compartment.
Tesla Optimus, applying AI, actuator, and battery technologies accumulated in Tesla’s electric vehicle ecosystem, has shown high-level walking technology and work capabilities in a shorter period compared to Hyundai Motor Group’s Atlas, which has been researched for decades. Optimus features a robot hand structure more similar to humans than Atlas and can mimic physical tasks performed by humans through AI-based object recognition.
Last month, Clobot received a commendation from the Minister of SMEs and Startups at the 'Global Super-gap Tech Conference' held at Conrad Seoul Hotel in Seoul.
