Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 23rd that starting next year, it will support toll fees for Incheon Bridge and Yeongjong Bridge for commuting staff to and from Yeongjongdo.

The maximum daily support amount is 11,000 KRW round-trip for Incheon Bridge, 6,400 KRW for the upper road of Yeongjong Bridge, and 3,800 KRW for the lower road.

The support targets staff commuting from Incheon city to schools in Yeongjong and staff living in Yeongjong commuting to Incheon city. Those already receiving Incheon city discount benefits are excluded from the support.

The Office of Education newly added the "Commuting Convenience Support for Yeongjong Area" item through an ordinance amendment this year and plans to officially support toll fees starting February next year. Schools in Yeongjong face difficulties in commuting accessibility and the additional burden of maritime bridge tolls, causing challenges for staff in their work.

An official from the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education stated, "We expect that supporting toll fees will reduce the economic burden on staff and increase job satisfaction," adding, "We will attract specialized teachers to Yeongjongdo, eliminate educational disparities, and improve the quality of education."
