Two Incheon City Council Members' Homes Also Raided
The police investigating allegations of corruption in the electronic whiteboard supply case conducted searches at the homes of two Incheon city council members and the city council office.
The Anti-Corruption and Economic Crime Investigation Unit of the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the morning of the 23rd that they had searched the homes of Council Member A and Council Member B, who are suspected of bribery, as well as the city council office.
The police reportedly secured documents related to the electronic whiteboard supply from the council members' homes and the Education Committee office of the city council. Council Member A and others are suspected of assisting a supplier in the school electronic whiteboard distribution project promoted by the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education and receiving money or valuables in return.
Earlier, civic and educational organizations in Incheon submitted a petition containing these allegations to the police in September, urging an investigation. Based on the petition, the police conducted a preliminary investigation before officially registering the case and transitioned to a formal investigation by indicting Council Members A and B.

The police also indicted two officials from the electronic whiteboard supply company on charges of bribery, and on the 26th of last month, they searched their homes and the company office to secure supply-related documents.
A police official stated, "We plan to analyze the seized materials and continue the investigation, including questioning the council members," adding, "We will thoroughly investigate the entire electronic whiteboard project."
