Announcement of 'Top 10 Policies That Shined in Jeonnam'
Including Yeosu Myodo LNG Hub Terminal
Based on Residents-First Principle... Efforts to Discover Excellent Policies
Jeollanam-do has independently selected the 'Top 10 Policies of the Year that Shined Jeollanam-do' among the initiatives promoted in various fields this year, with the top honor going to the 'Establishment of a National Medical School at the Integrated University.'

As a result of the evaluation, the top policy was awarded to the establishment of the National Medical School at the Integrated University in Jeollanam-do. The excellent policies included: ▲ Realization of 1.4 trillion KRW investment, Yeosu Myodo LNG Hub Terminal ▲ Jeonnam K-Tourism sets sail! 2024-2026 Jeonnam World Tourism and Culture Expo ▲ First proposal, persistent persuasion, and proof of causality for recognizing agricultural disasters such as brown planthopper ▲ Provision of basic birth allowance by Jeollanam-do, totaling four initiatives.
The encouragement awards were given to: ▲ Opening of the two-hour metropolitan railway era, Jeolla Line High-Speed Railway ▲ Fulfillment of a 20-year wish of residents, passing of the preliminary feasibility study for the Gangjin~Wando Expressway ▲ Securing 1.0725 trillion KRW as a triple winner for exemption from the preliminary feasibility study for core space launch vehicle infrastructure ▲ Expansion of Gim seaweed farms for selection as a World Gim Market ▲ Designation of Hwasun National Advanced Strategic Industry Bio-specialized Complex.
The Top 10 Policies of the Year were finalized through a first round of internal staff evaluation and a second round of external evaluation by experts from academia, the media, and research institutes, targeting 35 major initiatives promoted by Jeollanam-do throughout the year.
Park Kiyoung, a professor at Suncheon National University who participated in the evaluation, said, "This year, Jeollanam-do achieved excellent results in various fields, raising the quality of life for residents," and added, "We look forward to further development of provincial administration in the future."
Jang Heonbeom, Director of Planning and Coordination at Jeollanam-do, stated, "Despite difficult circumstances such as budget cuts, public officials responded swiftly, resulting in the success of various policies," and added, "We will continue to prioritize the interests of residents and do our best to discover and promote outstanding policies, with population decline and regional extinction as our top priorities."
