American Airlines Passenger Plane Bathroom Leak Incident
Water Accumulates in Aisle While Flying at 30,000 Feet Altitude
An absurd incident occurred inside a U.S. passenger plane flying at 30,000 feet when water started leaking.
On the 18th (local time), foreign media including the New York Post (NYP) reported on an incident that happened on the 7th aboard an American Airlines flight traveling from Dallas, Texas to Minneapolis, Minnesota. The cause of the incident was a leak in the airplane restroom. At the time, a passenger discovered the leak after using the restroom and informed the flight attendants. However, the attendants were unable to stop the leak. Eventually, the continuously leaking water began to pool in the airplane aisle, and the startled passengers had to endure the fear and discomfort caused by the mysterious water.

Passenger Hillary Blezvik said, "I couldn't believe it when I realized they couldn't stop the water, and I was somewhat in a panic," adding, "Passengers grabbed their belongings from the floor and lifted their feet to avoid the 'disgusting' puddle." Fortunately, no injuries were reported from this incident.
A video capturing the situation was also posted on social media. One TikTok user chose the theme song "My Heart Will Go On" from the movie Titanic, sung by Celine Dion, as the background music for the video. The film is based on the 1912 sinking of the luxury liner Titanic in the North Atlantic.
The video shows travelers tiptoeing to avoid the water as it seeps from the rear restroom leak toward the front of the plane, and passengers looking at the pooled water on the floor with disbelief. The video has garnered over 7.2 million views, attracting many comments and attention from netizens.
Among the comments were reactions such as "Almost drowned flying at 500 miles per hour at 30,000 feet," "Flooded inside a plane in midair...," and "What if there had been severe turbulence?" There were also comments likening the situation to a horror movie predicting a plane crash.
The NYP requested a response from American Airlines regarding the incident, but the airline did not provide any statement.
